Sr. Director of Business Development

Led national business development for an operational planning and management consulting-based business unit.  Practiced and directed the company's sales process in acquiring new and repeat business through the efforts of business development staff, operational doer sellers, and my individual efforts including presell, proposal, pricing, and presentation efforts.  Directed the marketing and sales support team, CRM, annual sales and marketing plan, and corporate reporting of business unit sales objectives and results.  Markets included Federal, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, Research, and Court Facilities.

Accomplishments

  • Led the diversification of market sectors from two to eight resulting in greater stability and growth of revenue

  • Created sales to Gilbane construction clients and supported construction sales personnel as a differentiator and corporate level initiative, while retaining a focus on independent pursuits

  • Coached and mentored area managers and doer sellers in presell and proposal processes, increasing sales exposure, repeat customers, and revenue

  • Contributed to the vision and strategic leadership of the business unit as a member of the leadership team and nationally as a member of the corporate business development leadership peer group

Owner and President

Developed, marketed, and led project services to companies undergoinng relocation, expansion, and consolidation.  Services included owner's representation and project management; strategic planning, space needs analysis, space planning and design management; vendor selection and oversight; technology, FF&E, and personnel relocation; and facility close-out.

Glaze Commercial Real Estate Advisors, Inc. (now Jones Lang LaSalle)

Pioneered integrated real estate, design, and project management services in the Kansas City marketplace to meet the pre and post real estate project needs of the company's predominately commercial clientele.

  • Brought together a multi-disciplined team of professionals focused on the entire lifecycle of a project

  • Developed, marketed, and led the firm's design and relocation service offerings including owner's representation, project management, strategic workplace planning, space needs analysis, space planning, vendor selection and management, design management, technology, and facility consulting
